Edit video and podcasts by editing a text transcript.
Descript's core idea is editing by text: it transcribes audio/video, and deleting a word in the transcript deletes that word from the recording. It also includes AI features like filler-word removal and voice cloning ("Overdub") for fixing flubbed lines without re-recording.
It suits podcast and talking-head video editing particularly well; complex multi-camera or heavily effects-driven video work still generally needs a traditional editor.
